The Miracle League Mission.

A closer look.

The Miracle League of Sioux City is a 501(c)(3) that provides recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities.  We are governed by a board of directors and are a member of the National Miracle League organization. Our facilities are open to all members of our community, but our Miracle friends are our priority.

Located in the Riverside Park area, The Miracle League of Sioux City is the realization of a dream by many in our community.  The park includes a rubber-surfaced baseball field, playground, splash pad, mini-golf course, music park, walking path, and a concession/restroom facility. Phase one of the complex was completed on September 12, 2015, and our latest phase was completed on October 16, 2016. We have plans to expand our park and include another field that our players, as well as athletes in the community, can use.

Because of the overwhelming support of our local community, businesses, and even Major League Baseball, The Miracle League of Sioux City — a $1.6 million complex — is debt-free.

How the players benefit.

At the Miracle League, we create a safe place where our players can play baseball, but our mission goes so much further than points on a scoreboard.

Our players participate in a program that promotes physical activity and a spirit of encouragement. They also develop relationships with coaches and members of the extended community that last forever.

During their time on our field, they will experience what it is like to cheer on their teammates and even gain individual recognition as a Miracle League “All-Star.”

How families benefit.

Some might come to watch the players on the diamond, but if we’re being honest, our favorite part is watching the faces of the families in the stands.

Families of our players get to sit in the stands while their athlete participates in a team activity, cheering them on and celebrating their game-day accomplishments, all the while knowing that all Miracle League players are loved and accepted just the way they are.

Our Miracle League families find support from other families, share common stories, and serve as a resource for other parents and families.
